Step one

So, I took that step this morning onto the scale.  My attempt to get back on track.  The results of that step were not as bad as I had expected which in itself was a little motivating!  I made a commitment last night to jump on the elliptical this morning and I kept my word!  I will not call it the strongest workout I have ever done but it all starts with that single step.442101-Royalty-Free-RF-Clip-Art-Illustration-Of-A-Cartoon-Sweaty-Woman-Exercising-For-Her-New-Year-Resolution

Tomorrow is another day…we have miles to go, one step at a time!

Put down the chips!

I need a push, a jolt of sorts to get moving.  Recently I seem to have an overall blah attitude.  I seem to lack motivation.  I did a quick google search of the word “motivation” and that indeed confirmed that I lack it!

  1. The reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.
  2. The general desire or willingness of someone to do something.

Today I was productive, changed sheets, did laundry and took the vacuum apart and cleaned it up.  Very exciting! During the week I did the shopping and other needed activities around the house.  Everyone got to practice and lessons and everyone had meals provided daily.  Outside of the normal necessary things, I did nothing.  Not only did I not workout, I could not stop eating these tasty jalapeno potato chips that were on sale.  That makes for a bad combination.  I am very proud of the 40 pounds that I lost and can not allow myself to slide backward.lays-kettle-cooked-jalapeno

So my head tells me a change needs to be made.  Now to get my body to get on board! I need to get focused!  No more chips, I can not be trusted if they are in the house ;-).  I believe the weather has a big roll to play in my mood, grey cold and dreary.  A nice sunny day would be helpful but I can not make excuses.  Tomorrow I will start with a small step, one onto the scale.  From there I commit to time on the elliptical machine. After that, well let’s just take it slow :-).

And with a turn of the clock

I awoke this morning at 7am according to the clock on the cable box.  It was still 6 am on the clock next to my bed since I did not change the time before bed.  I would not typically get up so early on a Sunday but Megan lost another tooth yesterday so she came springing into my room cheerfully to announce that the tooth fairy paid her a visit.  I was not thrilled to see such and early hour at the time.

Sitting here more that 12 hours later and still seeing some daylight outside makes it all worth it.  Signs that spring really is right around the corner.  After diner Meg and I decided to welcome the extra light (and the warmer weather we had today) with a nice bike ride.

oz10Earlier in the day we went to see Oz the Great and Powerful at the movies.  The girls loved it.  I thought is was good, a little long. Madison just loved the flying Monkey!

Last night I had my first Red box experience. The girls and I rented the lastest diary of a Wimpy Kid movie.  Megan has read all of the books.  The movie was actually very entertaining.  We run so much during the week with soccer practice, karate, CCD, long hours for Frank at work etc, it is nice to sometimes kick back and have movie weekend with the family!  By the way, I just love Red box!  I do not know why I have waited so long to try it, if it would only get the last Twilight movie back in stock I would love it! 🙂redbox_grid_6_wide
