Hold on Mickey we are on our way! (again)

I used to laugh at those families that went to Disney World over and over.  Was there nothing else to spend their vacation money on?  That was until we took the girl for the first time in October 2011.  The joy in the faces of my girls the first time they walked down Main street, the wonder as the music for the parade started, “Celebrate a dream come true“, we all sang it for weeks after getting home.  I remember Megan being so excited when the parade started to go by I had to hold back a tear, a mothers dream is to see a child that excited.Mickey_Mouse_Clubhouse_-_Mickey_-_Playhouse_Disney_Canada

We returned in February 2013.  That time was a celebration after my bilateral prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction.  After receiving the pathology report and realizing that it was not “if” I would have gotten breast cancer but instead “when” we knew we had to celebrate! We went all out staying at the Kidani villas overlooking the safari and enjoying 7 jam-packed days. Once again we had a fantastic time!  I really started to understand why people continue to come back, the fun had by the entire family was second to none!  We could not wait to plan the next trip, we had become one of those families.

This weekend we head back.  For the first time we will be driving and no villas. The kids are so excited because they will be sleeping in bunk beds.  I am not sure who is more excited, the girls or Frank and I.  My husband is just a big kid at heart and I have always had a loving fondness for all things Disney.  I also fill with joy watching the girls have such a great time.  The countdown has been going on for over a month with the excitement level increasing with each passing day…4 more days until Disney!

I have not posted in a while for several reasons..I will get to those once we return from seeing the mouse.  Hold on Mickey, we will be there soon!

Here comes the sun

Twas the night before, (the night before), the Bailey’s left for Disney and all through the house, the girls were very hyper, thinking of Mickey Mouse. The bags were all packed, (well mostly), and final shopping was done, visions of princesses paraded by in little dreams one by one.Walt Disney World Gallery Photo

Well something like that anyway.  The weather in Philly has me a little concerned about our flight Saturday morning.  A storm is moving in with rain and snow.  The temperature in the low 30’s. I hope we are long gone before it hits.  Fingers crossed that we are not delayed, at least not for long!  It is expected to be mid-80’s in Orlando…yummy! Sun sun sun!

The kids are very cute today, there is an extra energy in both of them.  An extra bounce in their step. We are so close….We will be there soon Mickey!

Take seven days fun in the sun…..

We are officially 5 days away from the highly anticipated Disney trip.  According to the girls it is only 4 days since we leave our house at 5:30 am Saturday so they do not count the day :-).   I guess with that logic, today is almost over since they are in bed  so we are down to 3 days!  Wow time is flying! ;-).

We began to process of packing over the weekend.  We will not be traveling light.  The weather in Orlando this week was chilly.  It is supposed to be much warmer next week so we will take clothes that cover the spectrum. I do not mind buying an item or two but would not like to be stuck having to buy full outfits due to strange weather swings.

So when we went to Disney in October 2011, Madison ended up with a bad sinus/ear infection.  I remember sitting at the minute clinic for over an hour waiting to be seen.  Poor kid was miserable but trudged on for the rest of the week.  Over the last few weeks we have all battled illness like the rest of the country.  My ear has still been bothering me from a few weeks ago so I called the doctor today.  They called in an ear drop for me, hope this clears it up the rest of the way!

Then there is my baby, Madi woke up today a mess.  Cough, stuffy and by late in the day a sore ear.  She has an appointment with the pediatrician once again tomorrow.  I of course would rather this all happen before we leave. I can only hope and pray that we are all healthy on the trip!  We have been looking forward to this for so long, I hope nothing spoils it!

I think we are all in need of some warm and sunny weather!  Supposed to be 88 degrees and mostly sunny in Orland on Saturday….that is SO what the doctor ordered!stylish_sun5
